How to Clean a Tumble Dryer

1. If your 2 part-combined filter needs cleaning, you will see a warning symbol appear on the display.
2. Open the tumble dryer door. Both parts of the combined filter are positioned at the front of the drum in the door opening and can be easily lifted out.
3. First remove the inner section of the filter.
4. The inner filter will open out like a book so that the inside can be cleaned. Simply wipe any lint away with a damp cloth or you can use a vacuum cleaner.
5. The outer filter can also be lifted out, opened and cleaned in the same way.
6. If there is a lot of lint build-up you can wash both filters under running water in the reverse direction of the lint build-up.
7. While both filters are removed, you can also wipe the filter housing at the front of the door to remove any lint build-up.
8. Make sure both filters are dry when you put them back into your tumble dryer.
9. Replace the outer, then the inner filter.

If your water tank is full, your tumble dryer will not operate. Here’s how to remove and empty it:

1. A warning symbol will appear on the display of your tumble dryer at the end of every program, reminding you to empty the water tank. If the water tank fills up while a program is running, the warning indicator starts flashing and the machine will pause. You should empty the water tank as soon as the warning symbol appears and then press the start button to continue the program.
2. Your water tank will either be located at the top of the machine in a drawer or at the bottom of the machine, behind the kick plate. Check your user manual if you are not sure where your water tank is located.
3. Remove the water tank carefully by pulling it towards you gently.
4. Empty the water that has collected in the tank.
5. If there is lint accumulation in the funnel of the water tank, clean it under running water.
6. Carefully replace the tank by sliding it back into the tumble dryer.

1. A warning symbol will appear on the display whenever you need to check and clean the evaporator filter – usually every three cycles.
2. The evaporator filter is housed behind the kick plate at the bottom of the machine.
3. Press the kick plate button to open the kick plate.
4. Remove the evaporator filter which is housed inside a drawer by twisting or unclipping as directed on the machine.
5. You will now be able to see the evaporator itself.
6. Use a soft-bristled brush to gently clean the fins of the evaporator by brushing them upwards and downwards.
7. You can also clean the evaporator by hand if you wear protective gloves. Do not attempt to clean it with bare hands. Evaporator fins are sharp and can harm your hand.
8. You can also use a vacuum cleaner in the same up and down motions to clean the evaporator providing it is dry.
9. Now open the evaporator filter drawer you removed by pressing the button on the top and take out the sponge evaporator filter.
10. Clean the filter drawer with a vacuum cleaner or damp sponge.
11. The sponge filter can be cleaned with a damp cloth. It can be rinsed under running water if needed.
12. Ensure the sponge filter is dry before putting it back into the filter drawer.
13. Place the sponge carefully back inside the filter drawer ensuring it is not being squeezed when housed in the filter drawer.
14. Replace the filter drawer and tighten the cap turning the filter drawer lock turning it in the arrow direction as directed on your machine.
15. Close the kick plate cover.
