How to clean your washing machine's filter

Locate the filter. Consult your washing machine's manual to find the location of the filter. On a Beko model, the filter is housed behind a flap on the front of the machine.
Turn off the machine. Make sure the machine is switched off and unplugged from the power source.
Put a towel down. Place a towel or similar item in front of the filter to protect the floor. Have a container to hand to catch any water that leaks out when you remove the pump filter.
Remove the emergency drain hose. Some models will have an emergency drain hose located next to the filter. Pull the drainage hose out and remove the stopper. Once this is removed, drain the water into a container before refitting the stopper and placing the drainage hose back.
